Term 2 Wrap Up

​As another remarkable term draws to a close, we couldn't be prouder of the accomplishments of our students and teachers. From academic achievements to sporting triumphs, artistic endeavours​ to community initiatives, we are privileged to have such a vibrant and accomplished community at Mater Dei.

πŸ’° Raised $1333.80 for Project Compassion.

πŸ“– Early Years teachers selected for BCE and University of Melbourne project on teaching literacy.

🌟 Hosted Early Years Network workshop on responsive English cycles.

βž• Over 20 students engaged in extension mathematics each week.

πŸ”’ Senior Primary Math's team ranked 10th out of 30 schools in All Hallows Math's Competition.

πŸ“š 8 families attended the Term 2 Parent/Child Book club in the library.

πŸ† Mater Dei Reader's Cup Team placed 5th out of 27 schools.

🧠 Year 6 students collaborated on solving a "city of the future problem" at Girls in ICT Day.

πŸŽ‰ Celebrated Under 8's week with Prep, Year 1, and Year 2 students.

πŸ¦™ Prep students had a visit from llamas Patsy and Potsy.

πŸš€ Aeronautical engineer spoke about caring for our planet and space.

🧸 Teddy Bear's picnic for 2024 Prep families.

🏫 Over 100 local kindy children visited Mater Dei.

🀝 Senior Primary students started visiting local kindy's as part of their Leadership duties.

πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ All students participated in a 4-week Athletics program.

πŸ† Mater Dei Northwest District Cross Country team awarded 2023 Overall Percentage Champions.

πŸ† Zone 4 Cross Country Team awarded Overall B Schools Champions and Percentage Champions.

🏐 QC Netball Cup teams placed second and fourth in their divisions.

🎡 Instrumental students showcased their talents at the Downtown Creative Studios Concert.

🚁 Robotics club built and programmed helicopters.

🍽️ 80 ladies enjoyed a fantastic time at the 2023 Ladies function at Babylon, Eagle Street Pier.

πŸ‘΅ Over 100 Grandparents and special friends attended a special liturgy and morning tea.
