Today marks an exciting new chapter at Mater Dei Catholic Primary School as they unveil their newly developed Vision & Mission and Graduate Profile. This significant launch, coinciding with Catholic Education Week, underscores the school’s commitment to shaping a community of faith, hope, and love.
Over the past twelve months, Mater Dei engaged its entire school community—including staff, parents, and students—in a collaborative process to define what they collectively aspire to achieve.
Principal Donna Jones expressed her enthusiasm for the new direction.
"Our new Vision and Mission encapsulates the essence of what we strive for at Mater Dei,” she said.
“It reflects our shared commitment to inspiring our students to actively participate in transforming the world. We achieve this through championing a faith-filled learning community that ignites hearts, engages minds, and serves others,” she added.
The Graduate Profile is a significant addition that was developed to describe and highlight the attributes of a Mater Dei graduate.
“Our new Graduate Profile will serve as our north star, guiding our decisions about teaching and learning, processes, and structures here at Mater Dei” explained Veronica King, Assistant Principal Religious Education.
“It will become an integral part of how we perceive, talk about, and experience Mater Dei, helping our community and the world beyond understand the vision and goals we have for our students.”
The launch event took place at the Mater Dei church with a special liturgy, bringing together the entire school community in a shared celebration of their renewed commitment to excellence in education and community service.
Mater Dei’s new Vision, Mission, and Graduate Profile sets a clear and inspiring direction for the future, ensuring that every student is equipped to make a positive impact on the world.
