Instrumental Music tuition at Mater Dei is co-ordinated by the school using external providers - Downtown Creative Studios. The school has a large range of instruments, purchased through a successful Gaming Fund Grant, available for hire. Children can also participate in singing lessons. All lessons are either individual or in small groups (with a maximum of 4 students in a group)

Instrument hire is $30 per term, this covers the cost of servicing and repairs at the end of the school year.  The school has a number of violins and guitars of different sizes; a variety of percussion instruments; keyboards and  a variety of woodwind and brass instruments.  Families can hire the instruments via the QKR! app, this allows the Instrument Hire Agreement to be completed at the same time.

Students who participate in our school's Instrumental Music program will have many opportunities during the year to showcase their learning to their families and friends.

At Mater Dei we have two choirs - a Senior and Junior Choir. Senior Choir is for students in Years 3 to 6 and Junior Choir is for all Year 2 students. Our choirs have many opportunities​ to perform at selected school and local community activities throughout the year.
